Objective: The objective for publisher was to build an online web product integrated with their other product portfolios. The publisher also wanted the new product to be integrated with social media to derive results from social networking. Sience the product launch was a critical aspect, the time was a major concern for the publisher and wanted this development to be complete by 8 weeks.
Action: With more than 100 man years of experience in the web development areas, our developers had pre built components and tools that could be customized for quicker development and implementation of these kind of web projects. The entire framework with functionalities were completed in a period of 5 weeks and one week to make it live. Objective: This Groupon based deals company wanted to migrate their web portal to a newer one with new designs, enriched functionalities and features. Since their existing web portal was not very stable they wanted to have a very stable web portal and with an intuitive admin interface for their staff to manage the deals. The second major objective of the client was to migrate their old data which includes customer information, deal information and other vital information to be transported into the new system
Action: Our major focus was to build an intuitive and an interactive web design for the users to navigate and purchase. An easy-to-use administrative console was also built for the administrators to enter and manage deals and their reservations. The system allowed users to purchase deals and also make reservations through the deals. We also integrated social media platforms for the users to invite their friends and become VIP members of the sytem. The major task was also to migrate the existing user base into the new system to build business continuity.
Benefits: The site was launched within a period of 6 months and the company was able to see dramatic improvement in the user base and audience engagement through the new website. 20% of their effort in their deal entry system and deal search was eradicated by the use of intuitive interface and dynamic querying. Objective: The client is a local publishing house based in New York. The major challenge of the client went into consolidating customer and prospective data from multiple sources and analyzing based on certain performance indicators and campaigns. They were evaluating few solutions that could automate the process and also produce reports and analysis on the fly based on their requirement. They were also not interested in investing on industry leading business intelligence solutions with lack of IT resources and the cost associated with them.
Action: 16 Works team executed this project in two phases, the first phase was to consolidate the data from various data sources into a single format typically like a warehouse. Since the data originated from multiple data sources, a data cleanser tool was built to automate the data cleansing before it is pushed into the warehouse. Second phase was to integrate the smart analytic engine at the back end to create a multi dimensional analysis of the customer information. A self generated and intuitive presentation layer was built to analyse and generate on the fly reports. The entire solution was built using Microsoft SQL Server 2008.
Benefits: The publisher was able to save close to 30% of their analysis time using this business intelligence solution. The entire process of manual transformation and consolidation was also eliminated using this automation process and saving a considerable amount of human effort and cost. With the help of self generated reports, the client was able to take complete insight and deep dive of their business and process.
India's leading Music Label builds an online community for a niche genre of music with an inbuilt music store.
Objective: One of India's leading music house engaged 16 works to build an online web property for its music business. The key objective of this portal is to build an online community for its listeners to engage, share and download music of specific genres like Carnatic, Classical, Instrumental and New Age. The key value addition was to provide a 360 degree view on this genre of music and a detailed insight of user behaviours.
Action: 16 Works conducted various meetings with the stakeholders of the business at different levels and build scope for this project. With the scope determined, the entire project was divided into phases, based on customer demands and priorities. The first phase was rolled out to implement a simple music shop for users to listen, share and then download. This phase was also integrated with a special zone for the registered users to avail various benefits of registration. Multi level subscription based model was built into the system for users to subsribe various offers and benefits. 16 Works were also given an opportunity to manage the operations of the portal, both from marketing and operations perspective.
Benefits: The music house was able to increase its subscriber base to 3 fold after the launch of the online web portal.The introduction of the online digital platform increased sales by 30%. The effective implementation of brandbuilding strategies increased brand recognition and brand identity. Objective: The client is an online e-commerce company who started selling niche technologies to the global market. The objective of the company is to build an online portfolio of their products and build a shopping cart to automate their process. The client also wanted to build multiple layers of payment gateway system using PayPal and other payment gateways. One of the key objective of the client was to build a simple administrative interface to manage the product portfolio and payment gateway system.
Action: The client was more interested to have this project delivered in the shortest time frame. In a view to reduce the time frame, 16 works technical team used the internal repository and customised the various e-commerce functional modules developed by the team. The project was completely developed in Open Source code to minimize cost and the development time.
Benefits: The client launched the website in 3 weeks time as compared to its original span of 8 weeks of the live site. The client was able to realise the return on investments made on this project. As a next phase, the client has engaged 16 Works team to integrate couple of other e-commerce products into a consolidated portfolio.

Objective: The client is a leading textile manufacturer and distributor. In a view to improve their bottom line growth, the company identified key areas to automate and reduce supply chain gaps using Internet technologies. Some of the key objectives of the project were to identify areas of increasing automation and reduce operational cost. One such identified area was Sales Delivery Cycle and Travel.
Action: 16 Works consultants initially engaged with the client management team to understand the current situation and capture future objectives and goals. After a brief requirement analysis, 16 Works team plotted a technology road map of automating various operations to reduce costs and increase efficiency. The first phase was to automate sales force using automated sales force engine. 16 Works team built a web based sales force automation tool integrated with Microsoft Dynamics. The second phase was to automate and unify data entries across multiple departments and systems. The third phase was developed in automating customer orders. Order forms were automated for quicker fulfillment of orders.
Benefits: In the first 3 months of implementation, the client was able to reduce 20% of manual effort in their data entry system. Travel and logistics cost was reduced by approximately 15% in the first few months, till the end users were familiar with the system. It is expected to reduce cost to 55% in the next 8 months. Order fulfillments were more accurate that inventories were managed properly reducing a considerable amount of holding costs. In the coming few phases of implementation the company is bound to reach 50% of their goals and objectives as defined during the project intiation phase.
